## **Event Description**

Learning and development leaders are being asked to do more than deliver programs. They must build critical skills, demonstrate business value and make smarter investment decisions while expectations continue to rise. The question is no longer whether learning matters—it is whether organizations can clearly show how and why it matters.

Co-developed and **hosted by Brandon Hall Group and Explorance**, this executive event brings together research, practitioner perspectives and practical guidance to help L&D leaders move from learning data to confident business decisions. Attendees will explore the future of L&D, new approaches to optimizing learning investments, real-world insight from Thermo Fisher Scientific and a hands-on skills workshop.

The program will examine how learning measurement is evolving beyond reporting toward predictive intelligence, prescriptive guidance and continuous optimization. Participants will leave with ideas for uncovering insights faster, anticipating risks earlier, prioritizing investments more effectively and connecting learning intelligence directly to workforce and business performance.

**What attendees will gain**

- A clearer view of the forces shaping the future of learning and development.
- Practical approaches for demonstrating and optimizing the value of learning investments.

## Session Descriptions

### Proving Learning's Value: Measurement, Performance, and Business Impact

Keynote

Learning leaders are under increasing pressure to answer a simple but difficult question: What changed because of the learning investment? Brandon Hall Group's latest Awards Survey reinforces that pressure: training effectiveness and ROI was the top learning priority at 58.6%, while 50.6% of respondents selected learning measurement and impact. Completions, participation and satisfaction remain useful operating measures, but they are no longer enough to demonstrate value.

This session will introduce Brandon Hall Group's Learning Performance Convergence model as a framework for connecting learning activity to skill acquisition, behavior and performance, workforce outcomes and business results. The model helps organizations move from isolated learning metrics toward a more complete view of how development contributes to performance.

AI-enabled analytics, continuous feedback and stronger links between learning and operational data are creating new opportunities to measure impact faster and adjust strategy as results emerge. The goal is not measurement for its own sake, but a measurement system that improves decisions, investment and performance.

#### What You Will Learn

- How to move beyond activity metrics toward evidence of performance and business impact
- How to apply Brandon Hall Group's Learning Performance Convergence model
- How to connect learning, skill acquisition, performance and organizational outcomes
- How to build a practical measurement strategy that improves learning investment decisions

### Metrics That Matter Vision and Mission: Optimizing the Value of Learning Investments

Presented by Steve Lange, General Manager, Explorance Metrics That Matter

L&D is under increasing pressure to do more than deliver programs. It must build critical skills, demonstrate business value and make smarter investment decisions in an environment where expectations are rising fast. The question is no longer whether learning matters. It is whether we can clearly show how and why it matters.

This keynote explores how Metrics That Matter is evolving to meet that challenge. More than a product roadmap update, it is a look at how MTM is moving from measurement and reporting toward predictive intelligence, prescriptive guidance and continuous optimization. Attendees will see how the future of MTM is designed to help organizations uncover insights faster, anticipate risks earlier, prioritize investments more effectively and embed learning intelligence more directly into business decision-making.

From AI-powered insight generation and conversational analytics to portfolio optimization and continuous impact monitoring, the session will reveal a bold vision for the next 18-24 months. Learning leaders will see how measurement can become a smarter, more strategic driver of business decisions, helping them prove value, predict outcomes, guide action and shape stronger workforce performance at scale.

### Demonstrating Learning and Skills Impact at Scale

Presented by Stephanie Johnson, Head of Consulting, Metrics That Matter

This session will explore cutting-edge approaches to measuring learning effectiveness using MTM’s new skills functionality. Attendees will discover how to go beyond traditional metrics to truly assess whether their learning initiatives are driving meaningful skill development within their organizations. We will showcase scalable methods for using MTM data and benchmarks to surface which skills are improving, where gaps remain, and how to refine curricula based on evidence and learner feedback to maximize impact.

#### What You Will Learn

- Scalable strategies for measuring skills contribution to training
- Methods for connecting learning data, including skills, to business outcomes
- Actionable approaches for refining curricula based on evidence
